Does anyone know if there is a drain line behind the glass running along the rear pillar where it's circles at in the 1st picture? The right side actually drains down to the rear bumper and onto the ground like it's supposed to. The drivers side just drips into the trunk where it is circled in the 2nd picture. 3rd picture just shows the location of the 2nd picture. The sunroof drains down below the front doors so they're no clogged. What can I do to get this fixed?...other than some clear silicone to clog the hole, not wanting to "rig" it up. Here are the pix.....

Yes, there is the same size gap on the other size...how can I clear the line with air?..i see where the 2 holes are on the sunroof. Those are both clear and drains properly. How do you get to the ones on the back glass?..can you just blow air in the gap between the seal and roof?

Just bought the IS 3 weeks ago, but that was the first thing I noticed. Never have worked on a Lexus or Toyota, so I'm new to this. Everything else is in tip top shape. I've checked the front 2 holes in the sunroof and they drain fine..the Pass. side top right corner of the window drains down the ground properly..just the Drivers top left corner does this.

No, the drains are mounted and start within the sunroof housing. It almost sounds like a bad seal in your case, i was already going to suggest pouring water. These are the most common threads with trunk water. It's usually a result of moonroof drain lines, ventilators on fender stuck open, body plug, or seal. If you're pouring on a window seal then it's obviously getting inside the body panel.

yeah, it's not leaking inside the cabin..just into the trunk where the 2nd picture is circled. there's a tiny, tiny gap..but it's the same size gap on the Pass. side...but on the drivers side leaks into the trunk. Maybe a small dab of clear silicone in the hole will close the hole...I'd rather get it fixed instead of fix-it repaired. I know a shop will prob charge alot. How hard would it be to pull the rear window seal and install a new one? Or does the rear window have to be removed in order to do this?

so the leak is coming from the windshield seal? Dont understand how you pour some water onto the windshield and the water leaking into the trunk.

Ops I meant back window haha. So to fix this problem I Ned to go to a local window replacement company and replace the seal? What if only the driver side only tho?

I went to a body shop and was told its a common problem for the is300's. The rear window seal will start to leak after a couple of years and needs to be replaced. I get water on the right and left sides and need to pull my drainplugs after EVERY rain or wash. What a pain in the ass. Poor design or material on the window gasket! You want it to stop replace your window gasket.

Researched more should I try some windshield sealant on it? Some people say the sealant stopped the leak and if it don't then I guess u Ned a new mold. Think it's a good idea to try it first?

Ima give this a try when I have time to fix my leak. I always thought its some body damage that is making the leak. Now that we found out wat cause it then it's a easy fix. Any1 tried this sealant?

I'm not the only one... I haven't been able to leave a damn thing in the trunk since I bought this thing used a year ago. This is how I found out...

Here's a pic I took, jamming my cell camera up in the trunk hoping to get a better look.

One of the windshield guys at the last dealer I worked at said he could reseal and reuse the glass for $80; but I had no idea there were drain tubes back there! I caught the leak coming in and took some pics, but I never saw the tubes.
