I have my uncle's 5-speed, "stick shift", silver, IS300 from 2002. Only 38,000 miles on it. It has been sitting for a few years and I have gotten a quote to repair...about $4400 in repairs are needed (mostly from rodents chewing wires and sitting still). Should I repair or sell? What is it worth?

I'd fix it up. That has a nice potential to be a fun clean car. I assume they want to do most of the wiring harnesses and tires. If you have the time you could probably replace the wiring harness yourself. The engine bay harness doesn't look that bad and will probably be the one with the most damage. I'd try to buy a new oem harness if you can still these days. The car being factory manual and only 38k miles is gonna go for some good money. All fixed and cleaned up 10K wouldn't be a crazy thought especially right now.

Agreed. 10-12k maybe more in running order. If the paint/body is cherry, then more for sure. It’s hard to find a stock 5MT that hasn’t been riced/drifted/swapped. It’s not a Supra but there is a following.

I’m curious what exactly 4400$ in repairs is buying you? Did the shop give you an itemized qoute? Seems steep for a car that’s only got 38,000mi. Only thing it should need is a timing belt job, and whatever wiring issue it needs sorted.
