I think everyone and their grandmother knows that all Subaru's are AWD, that's what they are renown for.

ckolsen is just pointing out the fact that although some BMW's and Audi's may have AWD, they don't have enough ground clearance for deep snow, whereas most Subaru's do. Thus if one needs a car for snow, a Subaru would be a better choise than a BMW or Audi.

You still need snow tires if it's for winter, and a BMW doesn't have enough clearance for deep snow anyway, nor an Audi.
