Loved mine all 800 miles until I sold it to go boost. My car was a snail in stock forum but once adding my SRT and full exhaust the car came to life. Great sound too

I made a intake pipe with some scraps leftover from boosting my honda.
3" worm gear clamps x4
2.75"od aluminum pipe x1
2.75" straight blue pipe couplersx2
-10an weldbung x1
-10an 90 barb x1
-10an hose with braided cover pulled off

fun fact: the stock crankcase vent hose had a restrictor in it, about 5/32".
So I cut it out, and put it in my new hose.

I'm a newb with a tig, so this was some more good practice.

I did something similiar, except i bought a "ebay cold air intake pipe for the is300" (which is just a pipe bent in the direction necessary for the IS300). I had a K&N laying around attached them together, and cut my stock airbox to form a heatshield. Cost me $30, and under WOT makes a NOTICEABLE difference in sound, 4 months driving, NO CODES, NO PROBLEMS.

Hope this helps to give others a cheaper alternative.

How much is the SRT you are thinking of buying ??? Take that total and think of what you can buy with the difference from JOEz intake price of $80 or you can make your own JoeZ intake pipe for about $40, if your up to it....

my mr2 had a major difference when i went with the k&n filter, actually got the boost higher(which is normal with turbos), but havent really messed with an intake on an Inline 6. is the SRT worth it as far as actual hp gains?

Depends on $$$ you want to spend ...I personally wouldnt buy a new one but used at the right price only ...

So bezik, the past few days I have been doing lots of research on intakes and what actually gets the car more power. I currently have the AEM cold air intake with an open cone filter. After reading some threads and diy's like the one you just posted I think I have come to the conclusion that the joe-z pipe with the stock airbox (stock air filter) and the snorkel mod will net the most noticeable power increase because it maintains air pressure within the box and open air filters do not. Should I do this? I think my current intake looks stupid and doesnt do anything. Should I go with the joe-z and stock airbox w/ snorkel set up?

I think this is the one someone is relating too.

Could someone post some detailed pics of the Joe-z induction kit? Just wondering if the pipe just goes in place of the stock one without any filter on the end - ie it just connected the inlet to the airbox where the filter sits.

I've only just got my IS300 so i'll post some pics asap!

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes...
I too searched for intake mods and discovered that we can--nay, MUST--make intelligent mods. Two links for your reading pleasure; these convinced me of the importance of thoughtful intake modding in particular and wise modding in general.

I squared him away already and your links already have been covered in this thread...

Just ordered one of these and will fit it at the weekend.

What size is the intake tube as i have a HKS filter hanging around and will need to buy a reducer as its currently 75mm i think!
Are you talking about the joez intake tube?
