So, I will be finishing this post (by updating this specific post) in the near future, but I wanted to get some basics out there.

First off, the why:

There is no reason to go AEM V2 anymore, unless you find a deal on a used one

Price - Infinity can be had for $1200-$1300 for the EMS itself, and Boomslang makes a plug n play harness for our cars for $600. About the same as a plug n play V2. (you can also do a plug n pin kit for $70 plus the cost of wires and your time, or a mini harness (flying lead) for $140.

Features - Infinity does everything V2 does, but does it all better with a better tuning setup (VE). It also does traction control (you'll have to pin 4 wires under the dash for this). It is completely waterproof and can be mounted in the engine bay. It has USB logging (logging directly to USB thumb drive, which is included). There is more that I am missing, but as you can see, this is a great system.

Additional requirements - aside from the basics required for a V2 (MAP, coolant temp, intake temp), you should also have a 0-100 psi fuel pressure sensor wired to the Infinity. It uses fuel pressure as part of its VE calculation for easier tuning and better drivability out of the box.

I will post wiring diagrams soon, as well as a couple base "session" files that should start and run any IS300 with just a few modifications to your current setup.

Where to mount it: The Infinity is fully waterproof and can be mounted essentially anywhere. I chose to mount mine underneath the drivers seat, as that is where I already had ran wires for the V2 I replaced. Some things to note - there are two USB connectors on the front of the Infinity. The smaller one is for laptop tuning and logging. The larger one is for USB stick logging. Infinity comes with a short, waterproof cable for the USB logging stick. The end that plugs into Infinity is waterproof, the other end is not - it will need to be in the cabin somewhere. Infinity does not come with a waterproof laptop cable, though they are offered. There is room to mount Infinity 6 by the master cylinder if you want it in the engine bay - it is quite small.

I used the Infinity 6. The 8H is essentially a 6 with 8 cylinder control, but gives up the ability to drive low impedance injectors that the 6 does. Both use the same 80 pin connector and share most all pins. Now, Infinity 8, 10 and 12 will all also work, and have more features - specifically a second internal wideband controller and 4 wheel traction control vs 2 wheel for the 6 and 8h. These units utilize two connectors and are not easily interchangeable with the 6/8h. They are also 80% more expensive.

I'm curious as to how seamlessly functional one can make such a system. Can you hook it up to OEM traction control buttons? Will all the gauges function? Etc. I feel like thats what is really missing for our car, a really plug and play option for full functionality. If only I could convince some CSC kids at my school to take on hacking and flashing the OEM ECU on as a senior project....

I'm sure with some thoughtful engineering, lots of that would be possible.

I am using a 12 position switch for more control over boost and traction control.

All of the gauges will function the same as if you had V2. If someone got really thoughtful, might be able to make the serial data work with the stock dash.

I feel like the IS needs a CAN-BUS interface box that accepts analog signals in, meaning the output from ANY standalone, and be able to spit out the appropriate proprietary crap that the cluster needs in order to fully function. Dreams man...dreams.

With some work, Proefi or Infinity support CAN bus - interfacing with stock systems in supported vehicles.

Base map will help a lot! >:) Specially with the filter settings of crank and cam.

The fuel pressure sensor is necessary? or can I setup a fixed pressure?

Thanks

AEM Infinity does sound amazing and extremely competitive with ProEFI.

But only one thing stops me and no one seems to give good info/input.
Has anyone tried Infinity on an Auto trans? And how does it perform?

I know ProEFI has good auto trans control, meanwhile Infinity seems to leave that part out. The Auto trans is self learning to meet owner's driving habits so it is harder for the tuner to find the exact shift points... even if one uses E-shift to drive all the time, there still needs to be a base map. From what I understand whoever tunes it needs to customize the tables rather use the ones provided.

I have a 2003 is300 auto doing single turbo 2jzgte & r154 swap. Bought aem infinity and suprastore plug and play. What harness and ecu should I run? My stock stuff or aristo? Pretty confused because every thread I read says something different. Have seen you help many people on here, thank you!

Stock is needed for the everyday stuff, unless you have a high end stand alone. Is the AEM a piggyback? Sorry i cant remember.

If your power asperations aren't that high i know guys over here who run both the stock for the normal IS stuff and run the aristo ecu for the engine management side, but the AEM is probably going to do a better job if you already have bought it.
