Just grease them up with some silicone spray or grease and pop them off. Don't cut them, you'll need them to mount the aftermarket exhaust - unless you want to waste money buying new ones - they don't come with the exhausts.

IMHO, pay $30-40 and have a muffler shop install it for you. See how they do it 1st hand and if you feel you need to do it again then you know now.

For DIY, 1st time should take you no more than 30 minutes for axle back exhaust. My 1st time took me about 45 minutes cuz the damn exhaust was still hot and I was too impatient to wait for it to cool down (lots of burn marks  ) But now to do a full cat back exhaust by myself will take 20-30 minutes, and of course waiting at least 30 minutes for the exhaust to cool 1st now.

Those brackets were little tough for me to get off. What i did was spray lubricant thoroughly through both of the holes in the hanger. Then i took a flat head screwdriver (larger than the hole in the hanger) and kinda used it as a wedge, once I got them wedged up a bit I just slid them off.

Silva is exactly right. We did my Borla on Sat; and the hardest part of the whole damn thing is the two bolts @ the cat. Had to go a a little service station and have them throw it on a rack. They needed a hardcore air gun and two guys just to losen the bolts. We tried everything from plasma torch(for the heat) to a heat gun to losen the bolts! After that it took us about 15 minutes to do the whole cat-back exhaust.
