Im hoping there are a few mechanics on this forum who can help me out. Im gonna buy a lexus is300 tomorow (GUlf specs) which uses the 3GR-FE engine. Its simialr to the GS300 engine 3GR-FSE but sans the direct injection. The 3GR-FE engine unfortuantly is only 229 hp. The v6 camry has a 2GR-FE which is essentialy the same series engine but with a bore of 94mm and storke of 83mm. ( the IS has a bore of 87.5, and same stroke). Would it simply be possible to bore out the IS300 engines to make it a 3.5 and replace the cyclinder heads etc with the v6 camry to get the 268hp that the camry is rated at? or is there more to it than meets the eye. Its kinda depressing the v6 camry here in the gulf is faster than the lexus is300 (btw we only get this one model, there is no 250 or 350 here)
