2001 Lexus IS300
MSM - E-Shift

The story goes like this....
9/18/05 - Sunday morning, I'm dropping off my girlfriend at her house at like 7AM. On my way back, I took route MD32 East towards Annapolis. At the Broken Land North exit, I fell asleep on the wheel at a speed of 65MPH on cruise control. I remember I had to merge onto the exit ramp but I guess I intially fell asleep as that merge happened. My car went off road into ditch. The whole front was mashed in, with the suspension being totally destroyed.

It's crazy but I survived the accident with no serious injuries. Couple of cuts and bruises was found but that was it. I wasn't even wearing a seat belt. I know I'm stupid, and from now on I'm always buckled down. I cheated death and I could even say that the strong build of the IS300 had saved my life. It's amazing how I was untouched while the front of the car was totally bashed in.

The car was totalled and I actually got my insurance check already. I have Allstate, I never thought I would be able to buy a car so fast. It literally took 5 days to receive the check.

Next car I'm gonna get is a 2001 Honda Accord EX Coupe 5-Speed manual. Insurance is definitely going to sky rocket and gas prices these days made me think twice about getting the IS300 again. I love the IS, its such a strong, reliable, fun to drive car. I'm also thinking about buying a used GSX-R this winter, so thats something i can look forward to.

I would like to thank everyone on the .net for advices, etc. Hopefully, I will be able to come back after I make enough money for the IS350 Good luck to all, and I will be selling some of extra parts I had for the IS300 on the Marketplace very shortly. Thanks guys.

dude man, i wish i had the dinero to get the is350. that would be like a dream come true. once i get out of college and find a decent job, ill be back. i was even thinkin about buying a used is300 and turboing the shit out of it. i took pictures of the car from the lot, ill post it soon. thanks guys.

actually you know i was very surprised with how much they offered me. summer of 04, i bought the 01 is300 44k miles for $20k and honestly i wasnt even expecting 15k from the insurance company since i put about 40k miles within a year. my mileage last time i checked was around 79000miles. after taking out 500 deductible and towing fees etc, they dished out $17900.

i cant buy another is300 cuz of insurance and gas prices, i just cant afford it right now.
