hi i got 01 is300 i recently rebuild the entire engine and installed a turbo system
the car started fairly easy on our first try but when i went to do my exhaust while it was on the tow truck tilted upwards
i began to lose oil.
during some confusion of which parts came with what....thats when we figured out that we forgot the rear main seal.

i took off the trans and put in the rear main seal.

now i go to start it and the engine sounds like its struggling very much to start up but doesnt
i thought maybe battery so i got one but still ran into the same issue of it struggling to crank over and start
checked oil and trans fluid ALL OK
no error codes

one scenerio we thought was that we installed the front and rear spacer incorrectly ?

anybody can help ...much would be appreciated

if you need any other u need let me know

What do you mean by front and rear spacer? And did you have an oil pressure gauge/sensor on startup? If not, did you see if the oil pressure switch was on while it was running?

Do you know if the engine was getting fuel and spark while cranking after putting the rear main seal in? Maybe you forgot a ground point after replacing the rear main seal.

Ideally you’d want to tear the engine down again to check for damage. Though I get not wanting to do that.

front and rear flywheel spacer on automatic transmission

i did find the ground cable connected to the bottom of the trans instead of to the starter mounting bolt

im pretty postive im getting fuel and spark but im double check
like i said..the car started with out issues...found out about the leaking oil out of the main rear seal...installed main rear seal and then having the starting issues

Did you ever get to checking is spark and fuel is good? Going back to basics is very helpful for these scenarios.

Also for the spacer concerns (and I could be very wrong on this), would it be possible to check the crankshaft end play? To make sure it’s not binding in the axial direction.

What’s being used to control the motor? How many sensors do you have on the car. The more sensors you have, the easier it is to diagnose problems. There’s really not much to go off of here.

we got spark we got fuel...it was the timing being off...my bro said it was off by a tooth...i dunno if by trying to start it the timing being off the just became more off and more off

we found out the timing was off by a tooth.
the cam gear notches were lined up but the crankshaft pulley was a lil passed tdc

my question is how far does the timing have to be off to get bent valves in your head
