is it worth it to get winter tires? or should I get a new set of 16inch rims with winter tires on them? since the tires alone will cost over 1K anyway.
and... anyone know where to get cheaper tires or rims with winter tires, and what brand is better? thanks
also, all season tire is a waste of money Rite?

Depends where you live. All Seasons are PERFECT for the Seattle area.

Go to the Tires forum and solicit information.

oh yeah, I totally forgot about that we have a Tire Forum... my bad.
I got 4 -16" wheels & Blizzak WS-50 winter tires, mounted, balanced & delivered to the Lexus dealer for less than 1K. thru Tirerack.com. You need the same tires on all 4 corners for ABS.
I am in connecticut and we are going to have one hell of a snow storm... If you sepnd 1k on snow tires your smoking crack and need to learn how to use the internet. Most at the very very most you will spend $700, but if you get some good blizzacks from tirerack your looking at $550 or so.. 16 inch is not a bad way to go your looking $500+ depending on the rim you get.....

I have 19"s for summer, dont need a third set of wheels so i am going to order 17" snows...
Hi everyone, what size of snow tires you usually get to put on your stock 17" rims? 205/50 or stock 215/45? Does 205/50 fit on the stock rims safetly?
