Hoping my SportCross lasts as long as my 84 4 Runner .... which, as the Timex ads say, "takes a licking and keeps on ticking".

The 84 4 Runner (first year they came out) is amazing - seems to be indestructible. We had it since new in 84, until giving it to my daughter in 96. She passed it onto my son in 98, who's been driving it troublefree ever since. This summer, it's coming back to us, to "retire" to the moutain where we live and be used as a kick-around vehicle for hauling stuff - or when the snow keeps the IS in the garage.

Hoping for the same kind of reliability for the wife's SportCross.

Your talking as if you already own a sport cross??? Anyhow, I'm with you on the Toyota.Theirs a guy at work here that rides in this old 4 runner, The rear end has alot of rust.Still runs great though! I was told that back in the 80's, Toyota would Import their trucks without the beds, & the beds were made here in the USA & then attached. That's why you see alot of older SR5 trucks out there that are mint in the front, & all rust in the beds!
