i think comptech brings up a good point: i don't hate the is300, just as i don't think anyone truly hates the car. it's a good car, and i damn near bought one. if i didn't buy the cl-s, the is300 would have been my second choice. just because i own a cl-s does not preclude me from liking some aspects of other cars -- there doesn't have to be polarization like this, fellas. sure, we go back and forth -- is300 is slow, cls is ugly, whatever -- but that's just part of being an enthusiast. imagine the alternative: you could drive an escort and be utterly and completely passionless about it, thereby missing an entire aspect of your current lives. how fun would that be?
me, i'll take some sparring over nondescript boredom any day of the week. the fact is, we both have nice cars, and all the nitpicking is just that: nitpicking. you'll find the same behavior across a wide variety of subjects -- bikes, computers, etc. -- because it's human nature to be proud of your purchase. and on the faceless internet, this nature is amplified to sometimes stupid heights, as this remains one of the few places you can act largely like an a$$hole without any real consequences.

chill fellas...it's all good
