Hi everyone....I'm not completely new to this message board as I've been quitely sitting on the sidelines reading for awhile. But this post is in response to ignorant people's posts like nemesiss "A CAR YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME DRIVEN".

Obviously, most people on this board are of a higher caliber (successful) to be driving nicer 30K+ cars. But come on....nemesiss...get off your pedestal. Obviously if you have the $$$ to drive an IS...why would you even consider driving a Civic. But at the same time...don't diss em as if their pieces of SH*T because for that class of car...they are truly one of the bests available.

I'm currently at a point of my life where I'm soon going to be bringing in a lot more money (Almost graduating with a BS in Computer Engineering). Therefore...I've been looking forward to getting a much nicer IS300 in a year or two. (I currently drive a '96 Accord EX). Even though I will soon be moving on....I can say that I appreciate HONDA. I have put in a lot of work and $$$ into my HONDA and couldn't love it more...but of course I'm ready to move on.

So my question is this....HOW MANY OF YOU STARTED OFF WITH A HONDA.....and what kind?? I'm sure many of you have....so give credit where it is due.

My first car was a 1993 Honda Civic DX coupe I ABUSED IT HARD and it never flinched. As redundant as Honda is on the street it is for a reason. One of the reasons I came to bash on this forum was because the general owners of IS300 iv'e encountered seemed very arrogant and condisending. Nemisiss' attitude proves my point further.

I am an import enthusiast, My first car was a 96 Honda civic EX coupe at the age 18 graduating from high school c/o95. I love hondas, when i was young i was so into the racing scene. I pretty much had it all GSR motor swap, headlight conversion, 18's racing harts, etc. So then i went ahead and bought me 2001 Altezza Spectra Blue and i adore my ryde with joy. So i pretty much started from Honda to Toyota. There aint nothin wrong with honda, I use to have one.

Im 22 (almost 23) and i traded my 97 Honda Accord EX in for my IS.

I have had no complaints whatsoever and reliability wise i would trust that car over many other cars. i put on nearly 100,000 miles on it and the only thing that was changed was the oil and the brake pads.

Honda's to me are not cheap cars and I wouldnt expect anyone out there to go and just buy one cause they are pricey.

if this topic started on somthing like a kia or somthing that would be different but hondas ARE NOT CHEAP

And just because everyone out there has one does'nt mean anything but that its a good reliable car at a good price

I come from the Honda family...I still have my 98 Accord V6...I loved that car...but I realize that the IS 300 had much more potential from the engine...so I got that...I tune imports for my hobby...and for a guy like me the IS 300 is a great platform to play with. In my driveway are two Honda's (98 Accord and 98 NSX) a long with two Lexuses (RX 300 and IS 300) and a Ford (Sierra Cosworth).

Welcome aboard Chingker. Your nick' seems familiar, but I can not recall from where.

You will have to get used to biased fools on this board and everywhere else in society. Some are funny, some are uneducated, some are blunt.... There are quite a few of them, but they are biased. Regardless of what car they drive.

It looks high doesn't it
...I think it is because of the angle at the tires...it's got a 1.3" drop with Eibach pro-kit...before you turbo it get your tranny upgraded...I've been down that road with my Accord (it was fun...got me into tuning)...that's why I have an IS now. Thanks Quik!

Here are the car's I've owned:
'93 Civic EX sedan (drove for 2 years)
'97 Integra GSR sedan (drove for 3 1/2 years)
'95 325i sedan (currently driving for 2 months)
Don't know when I'll buy my next car, but it'll be one of these:
IS300 5 speed
BMW 325/330i (only if steering's fixed)
Honda S2k-based sedan (if they build it)
Alfa Romeo 156 sedan

I loved my Civic and Integra, would highly recommend them to people who don't want to blow $30,000.

I use to frequent honda-acura.net a lot. Maybe that's where you've seen my nick. But time for a change. The peeps on this board are far more mature than the peeps that are on honda-acura. Which is why I assume some of you guys dislike that whole HONDA related scene.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.....

Honda's are not cheap. They're pretty dayam expensive for the class of car they belong to actually. Anyways, I drove a '94 Integra until I got my IS300 last July. I also bought a '99 Civic for my moms. I'm going to trade that thing in for either the 2002 Accord or 2002 Integra. Hondas are great. If Lexus were to make a $16,000 car, I doubt it would be better than a Honda Civic. Look at the Corolla... maybe as nice as the Civic, but not better.
