its a rubber gasket. and yeah its on the front, rear, and sides. i wanted to keep the lips from scratching everything up too bad. plus it helped a little with the fitment.
i kinda thought the same thing.
thanks man :approve:
EDIT: well i finally got my l-sportsline grill fixed and installed again. so here are just some quick pics of it. it was raining and my car filthy so they arent anything great.
EDIT AGAIN: still havent gotten my tails, emblems repainted, or my calipers painted... but i took these pictures during the first snow of the year lol. nothings different except i have chrome emblems (i bought a second set) instead of my "black pearl" ones. i've screwed up painting them 3 times lol and have had to keep redoing them. and now its too cold to paint them.
and i would have had my calipers painted the week of thanksgiving but the guy called monday morning and said he would need it before 11am or he would have it until the next monday (they were going to be closed wednesday thursday and friday) and i was busy so i couldnt get it to him. so thats been put on hold until after finals.
and im either next or there's one more person in front of me for my tails. just plan stock tails painted satin black with chrome rings. nothing special. but i cant wait
so anyway. here are two pics from the first snow. it didnt snow to hard but it was nice to see snow again.
thanks man. i was happy with the head lights as well. also wet sanded them and had Xpel film put on them (and the fogs) and they still look good as new :approve:
but yeah i tried to get my calipers painted to match my lug nuts... well it didnt turn out how i wanted. i had them done in Duplicolor Metalcast Blue because in pictures i had seen it looked lighter. so i wanted a LIGHT blue with Black decals to make them stand out. but the paint turned out dark so now the decals arent noticable. if i could do it again i'd get white decals... and i told the guy that did them how to put on the front decals... i figured the rears were pretty straight forward. well i was wrong.
this is with the flash directly on it. it looks like it matches here... 100_0388 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr
they match my valve stems so when it warms up i'm going to try and paint the lug nuts using the same paint. we'll see how long that lasts. i'm also going to lower my car a little more lol.
i also redid my rear emblems and license plate frame. i'm eventually getting satin black tails to match my head lights so i did those in Satin black too.
the license plate frame used to be all chrome but i taped off the "Southfield" on top and then the "L" and "Meade" sanded everything else down and then painted it to leave the letters chrome. it didn't show up the best in the pictures...
EDIT: nevermind! i still can't see many of them but i think its something with my computer.
from the few i can see, i love your headlights. and yea, those tails would look badass
EDIT: yeah i some one else had problems seeing them when i first posted pictures. they came back later (or on a different computer) and they all worked. thanks though!
nicely done dude!! ever thought about getting clear side markers or color matching them to your car? its a simple mod that would flow with your car..just a thought...love it though!
