That is total BS. Performance tires (especially 17")are made for high speed stability, that is unless you went half ass on the tires. What kind of tires you buy? Discount Tire(American Tire) now has a new balancer that cost $5-10 more per tire. They mount the rim and tire, the machine senses the dead spot on the rims and senses the dead spot on the tire, they remove the tire and align the dead spots together for a more precise balance. The weights are different also and are placed along other dead spots. The process is 2-3 times longer then a regular balance and was a pain in the ass to do all mines. But well worth the piece of mind IMO.
