Seems there are no millenium silver models to be found in the entire western region. I'll wait to see if the next batch arriving on the 15th has any silver cars - otherwise I'll have to compromise on another color. Anyone heard why silver's in such demand?

It's quite expected because in the IS300 brochure or even in quite a lot of car magazines (Japan, Hong Kong, American, etc) silver IS seems to hold the highest # of appearance. Plus, it's a popular color in sports car such as the current BMW E46.

If you toll up the statistics in the thread for how many IS300 owners, you will see silver is at the top.

no offense to anyone who owns silver, but I think it is one of the worse color for this car. My dad, the salesman, and I were all disappointed with the way silver look. Not that the salesman want to sell me other color because there were no silver, in fact there were around 3 or 4 silvers when I was at Longo for test drive. I've heard bunch of people that ordered silver at Longo had switch colors after the car arrived, so you maybe able to find silver if that is the color you are looking for.

No offence, the test cars in the 3 dealers that I visited were either in graphite grey metallic or solar yellow. Probably because these are new colors to Lexus product lines.

Sorry boys, but silver is THE color for me. My current ride is black on black and I'm tired of it looking dirty 10 minutes after I wash it. Next choice I suppose would be the metallic white with ivory.

Well, I this is what happened:

1. Lexus of Monterey tried to do the dealer swap, but said they couldn't because some Lexus bigwig wouldn't allow it.

2. Lexus Customer Care said that I *can* get the black LS with LSD in california, but I'd have to preference it, and this can take 60-90 days. I'm not sure why LCC thinks that I can get it anyways, since Monterey tried to preference one for me a month ago and got an ivory LP.

3. I hear that even if I get it from Texas, it can take 60-90 days to get the configuration I want.

4. Lexus of Stevens Creek called me and said they're getting a silver fully loaded in my name on the 15th boat.

I don't think I can wait another 60-90 days, so I think I'm just going to bend over and take the ivory.

"The ivory isn't that bad.."

It's probably because all the marketing upfront was with silver... everybody wants it. Pohanka Lexus has a nice long list and probably 60% of those on the list are waiting for silver, several Auburn Sky, Graphite and Blue. They have white with the LP, LSD and Graphite rims coming in that I did have my name on because no one is asking for white. I stopped by to drop off my hold deposit and was offered a yellow one and drove it away an hour later.

Chiem, if it's any consolation I'm looking for the silver with ivory interior! I passed on a silver/black, changed my mind only to find it was already gone (doh!). Now the only silver they have left is a stripped down cloth (black) one. They have a white/ivory one sitting there - but as much as it kills me I think I'll hold off to see if any new silvers come in on the 15th.

Does the well known great Lexus service not extend to the sales side of the business? It seems everyone is having trouble obtaining cars that are not the typical ones built for their region. I would think a car that commands a $5000 profit would get a little better service.
