What really pisses me off

I was talking to someone I know about getting the IS300 (standard transmission in 2002), and he replied telling me that it looks too much like the Accord.

I can understand how he could mean that Japanese styling is similar, but he was mostly referring to the rear tail lights. Stupid Honda ricers have to ruin it for the IS300 owners. The IS300 was made before it was available in the US, so all these stupid Honda ricers had to copy the tail lights of the Altezza/IS300.

It seems like these stupid "Altezza lights" are on most Honda/Acura's driven by teenagers. Drives me crazy! Not to mention the fact that Edmunds, in reviewing the IS300, had to write how it looks like your neighbor's kid's Accord.

The IS300 was supposed to look very original, but these ricers had to spoil it for the US market. I still want one though =)

Thats why I added tail light covers to make my tail light look less like Lancers.. Hondas and other cheap imitating cars.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm hoping that someone will eventually offer the tail lenses in the normal (maybe boring to some) red color. The only other change I'd make is adding the factory rear spoiler, but then my car cover won't fit as well...

In my experience this is a non-issue. You know you drive a Lexus, and most people who know anything about cars know you drive a Lexus.

Who cares what non-enthusiasts think.

DAAAAMn why you bothering with an IS???? you've got a bimmer, a benz, and a SUPRA. COME ON MAN!!!!!!! sell the bimmer and benz and get an m5 or a ls430 or somethign!!! haha.....
I'm sure most of you drive these cars as daily drivers. How is it? I would like a fun car to be driven daily, about 40-50 miles per day.

I know the fuel economy of the car leaves a bit more to be desired, but other than that, how are the ergonomics, ride comfort, practicality, etc?

Vandalism is also a concern because I will be driving this car to school.
My car is a daily driver. 80+ miles each way to work. I dont think the fuel economy is all that bad. I average 22.8 mpg. High on the sticker is 23. That pretty good. Not sure what everyone else gets, and I dont drive in town too much. My milage is all highway.

And Risk was right...you know you drive a Lexus...thats all there is to it!

I know what you mean man!!! Last weekend, was at the gas station, this civic pulls in with the IS taillights and at the trunk lip, there is 2 brakelights. It is trying to copy the IS real end!!!

I really hate ppl for trying to copy it. If they really like the look of it, then buy the IS not copying it. Ahh, it really made their car look cheap.

Just my .02 cents

But don't u feel superior when they pull up next to u? U have orignal and they have imitation. Imagine how they would feel.. showing off their new lenses then pulling up next to the real thing
