What just happened to my IS300????

I'll bet you stalled the clutch - wait that would be next years model... sorry.

Call the dealer and explain tot them what happened adn demand a free check up.

Most likely, they will say they found nothing but I would do it anyway to have documentation in case any future problems may arise.

its always a good idea to cover all your bases and be safe.

GREAT call man, it's always best to be cautious with something like that... could be a 1 time thing, but if not, it's better not to get screwed.

Wazzup, I had a similar experience as you. I was cruising on Santa Monica Blvd. when all of a sudden the lights on my dashboard started flashing. First was the traction conrtol lights, then the engine, then the blinkers. Next the radio started to go on and off. A few minutes later, the engine went dead. Luckily, I pulled over before the engine died. Can you imagine my embassassment to have a new car die on Santa Monica Blvd?! Anyways, I called the Lexus road service and had it towed to a nearby dealer. The whole problem was because of a faulty alternator. The battery was drained which caused the electrical system to go haywired. I suggest you look at your voltmeter to make sure the charge is between 9 and 15 volts. If it's below 9, your car is not getting power from the alternator and the battery will drain soon.

I experienced the same problem a while ago in my 98 ES300. Turned out to be the alternator like onefortheroad said. Battery wasn't being re-charged properly or something. Got the alternator fixed and everything was cool.

I had the same exp too with my BMW 525i. That happened on the day that I traded it in for the Land Rover. Poor dealer.....

Happened to my previous car when the battery was low. Poor dealer bought it- only if they knew how a highway divider jumped in front of me going 100 mph.

I had this happen to my Eclipse once before. It wasn't to the point where engine die completely, but you could here the engine went totally silent for a fraction of a second and every instrument in the car went dead during that time. I never really quite sure what happened as it only happen once. My only guess at the time is that there maybe some surge that went through the car, since the ground was wet and I was in the parking lot outside of Fry's where anything can happen.

Seems like in your case, the warning lights don't really mean a thing.......They came on AFTER your engine died, right???? Whenever you turn on the ignition, those same warning lights come on anyway.......

But you should have it checked out.......Have you used any fuel system cleaner lately?????

Try Castrol Syntec fuel system cleaner. It works amazingly well....Clogged injectors may cause rough idles and could lead to engine stalls......

yeah the warning lights came on afterwards. like when you stick the key in the ignition in the beginning and everything is lit up.

I will call my dealer this weekend.

Well I drove my IS all weekend and it never died again. Oil and Battery levels check out.

I'm approaching my 10,000 mile mark and will mention this to the dealer when I bring it in for it's next service appointment.
