I would appreciate the input from the IS community to help me value this car. Its an 03 automatic LSD silver/black interior it has approximately 33 000 miles (54 in km) and is close to pristine condition. Some good quality upgrades (Procharger, Willwood BBK, Figs suspension, dezoid, injectors, etc) full list is on my other introduction thread. It is a supercharged car with a greddy piggyback and includes 3 sets of rims and tires.
1. Whats a realistic selling price as it sits?
2. Would it be better to remove the supercharger injectors and management and sell it as a stock engine with the FI system sold separately? if so what would the SC system fetch?
3. What would be the best way to advertise the car if I decide to sell it?
thank you

A similar supercharger for the is200 (the European one to be clear) is $2k. Used SC systems for the 2JZ is hard to come by mostly because no one really wants them. A shame but understandable.

Kelly blue book says 9-13k for a car of excellent condition at your mileage in MY AREA. Your area will play a large role in how much it’s worth. With the mods as is, I’d say 10-14k. Mods don’t add the value they cost. It’s a sliding scale of more mods, less value added. Personally speaking, $10k sounds about right.

Good point. I'd probably be ahead if I pull the expensive mods to sell separately (BBK, figs, exhaust/headers, procharger, rims etc) and leave the rest with the car.

I'm a little upset you're selling it, since you just bought it.

Here in the states, you could get 12k USD as is. Someone who doesn't know much would pay 18k if you had it listed high enough. I'd just list it for 18k CAD and see what happens.

Why are you selling it, anyway?

Not sure about selling the car. Comparing the costs to purchase and install a 1jz r154 with a standalone (2jz + 6 speed apparently is a non option now)

If by 6 speed you mean a Getrag V160, those are pretty much unobtainable. If you mean a T56 Magnum, that is definitely a possibility... you can even get a sequential if you're so inclined. Minor mods to make it fit.

Ok I’ll bite, it’s worth whatever someone pays, you can probably get around 15K-16K as is but getting that buyer is gonna take some time. Realistically I’d say 13K being that you can buy a clean IS in my area for 10K and the blower might increase the price 2K cause that’s what the last kit I saw for sale was going for.

I am just astonished how overpriced the getrag is. When I had my soarer a decent rhd supra was 10K. i have had a hand in a few 7mgte swaps and while i love the LS +t56, i would stay with a 1j and be happy with a reliable sub 400 hp car.

Limited supply of transmissions and available spare parts will do that. Is it a 10000$ trans? IMO it is not. But they ain’t makin em no more so there’s that.

They like 35K now. My GTE was 1700$ delivered to my door. Money just isn’t worth what it used to be. If I were you, I’d swap to an R154/AR5 and keep the supercharger. Yeah it’ll never make the power a turbo will but it’s unique and I bet it’s a blast to drive.

Prices are what they are for the V160 because new transmissions or new parts for them no longer exist. As for the T56, I was referring to mating it to a 2JZ - see Lexus IS300 T56 Magnum-F swap kit (GR700-GR900-GR1000-GR1000F) 2JZ Altezza TR6060. If the V160 in my race car called it quits, that is the route I'd go (for reliability with a sub-400 hp car).

This right here. Just swap in a manual and be done. I would talk to Quantum Auto though to see if he can tune the ECU for a better a/f ratio and maybe more hp. He will be able to tune out the auto bs (CEL codes when you remove the auto) while he's in there.

it's 33k miles and supercharged....do what Piggity said and manual swap and either get an aftermarket ECU or talk to Quantum. It'll be less work and less headaches than removing everything and selling it separately.
