Inspired by the location of the memory seat control panel in RX300 and the similarity in contruction between RX300 and IS300 (for instance, the window frames, door handle), it may not be that technically expensive for Lexus to provide this feature in IS300.

The memory seat control panel for RX300 is located on the left hand side on the dash besides the steering wheel.

So I would think that the switch place where there is a coin-holder could be used for the memory function.

Just my thought.

Of all the possible options, memory seats are near the bottom of the list. If I was married and my wife was driving the car 50% of the time, then I can see the need for memory seats. I will drive the car 99% of the time, so I see no need.

When you do get married, you'll realize memory seats aren't an "option", they're a necessity for couples who share cars (though maybe not for couples who each have their "own" cars.)

It was a silly thing to leave out, particularly because it seems to be a very simple and inexpensive add. On the other hand, it does let "Lexus" brag about "improvements" next year or whenever it gets added.

Yeah, memory seats are a good idea if there are going to be multiple users for a car, but I let my friends drive sometimes and my dad drives it when I'm asleep or something and the only adjustment they use is the one that adjusts leg room; that other stuff is good for fine tuning, but not as important as the tilt and leg room adjustment.

YEAH 100 POSTS..

Is it technically feasible to have this feature added on existing IS300's either by after market or by the dealer if say next years IS300s have this feature?

Would be even cooler if the outside mirrors as well could be controled.

I think memory seats are a serious omission in the IS300 and, among a few other things, made me reject this car. As mentioned in an earlier post, when you share a car with others, memory seats are very important.

What I'd really like to see in the IS is an auto telescoping steering wheel with memory. Something that retracts when I open the door and extends when I close the door, like what the SC does. I sit pretty close to the steering wheel when I drive, and always rub a little against the seat when I'm getting in and out.

well, my thing on this whole topic is, it doesn't matter, really.

this being my first luxury car purchase, I'm
not accustomed to having this option. I know, for many of you who have had previous Lexus, BMW and MB, it's always been there.

I share my GSR with others, but I can live with the extra 3 seconds it takes me to adjust the seat.
