Trying to figure out which amp I need. I will be keeping everything stock, I'm just adding one 10" 250-watt, 1000-watt peak Infinity sub, and am not sure what a good amp would be for this bad boy. Expandability is worthless to me, I will not change my system after this. So what would be best for me? Thanks...

If you run that sub at 1000W, it'll last about... an hour.

Do not exceed 250-300W.

I run my Kappa Perfect 12.1 at 400W.

I figured that since it was a 1000-watt peak sub, it shouldn't be run at that all the time. I was thinking a 250-watt amp, but the real question is, which amp would be appropriate for this application?

Do I need a mono amp? Or a dual channel amp? I plan to continue using the stock amp for the stock components........ thanks for the help

HiFonics BX500D or the BX1000D Brutus series would work nicely. The 500D is 125*1 at 4 ohms, 250*1 at 2 ohms, and 500*1 at 1 ohm. The 1000D is 250*1 at 4, 500*1 at 2, and 1000*1 at 1 ohm.

A Zeus ZX4000D is a bit cheaper will give you around 400 watts at 4 ohms mono.
