If Lexus abandons the inline six I'm outta here! The inline six is the smoothest (other that a V12) configuration known to man according to many automotive magazines which is undoubtedly why BMW sticks with it and why Lexus (in the IS and GS at least) should as well.

There are cost and (supposed) crash advantages to the V6 but from a purist's point of view, an inline six is the way to go. :bitching:

I'd give you dots if I had some. I totally agree. I am in the market for a new car (recently sold my 2001 Acura CL TypeS) and am interested in the IS300 because it's RWD, manual trans offered, and inline-6. I can't stand the sound of V6s' exhausts. I love the sound of the MkIV Supra and I'm sure the IS300 when turbo'd will sound just as sweet. ;)

I'm just getting started here. I wish there was a FAQ thread somewhere because I have some questions I'd like to ask but I'm afraid to ask something stupid.

agreed. The reason I bought the IS had alot to do with the I-6. I will be getting a new one around the end of 04. So hopefully there won't be any major changes. That would be stupid. BMW seems to do just fine with their I-6s.
Car & Driver says the next 3-Series will have a 3.6L V8 replacing the 330i

Dude, the ONLY reason you would get flamed is becuase NO ONE knows what the hell you are talking about. WTF does a i6/v6 have to do with snow? Torque?

I'm guessing that the fact that you got no action last winter had little to do with your car, and much more to do with the fact that you're a moron.
