I am not sure what it is called, but I remember reading some people's posts about how the plastice peice under the car would fly off. I just checked my pARTS AND SERVICE INVOICE and it is called Under Body Panel. When I went to pick up my car he said that it was recalled. I never got any call or letter in the mail about the recall, so I just wanted to inform you all to ask your dealer about it when you go for your next check up! Good Luck and Drive Safe!

I was just thinking about that.
It used to be such a hot topic.
Did they ever fix the problem?
My dealership has no clue. They're saying they have no redesigned undercarriage shields.

If anyone interested what it looks like, here are the pics I took when mine came off. It was about 4 month ago after driving at low speed on a harsh road.

Mine are in good shape, I cleaned and armor all'd 'em during my last oil change. I can see how a rough stone road might mess 'em up!

The problem was, actually, the plastic used in the shield, or mounting of it, I should say. The plastic supporting the mounting wasn't thick enough, so it cracked under pressure. Some people had it happend on 5K miles, I got it on 10K.
Here's the link to the last discussion which took place in the owners forum.
Plastic undercarriage dropping from the car
P.S.
If I could only remember the owners password. I'm too lazy to look it up again.

That I don't know. No useful info from my dealer either.
Considering it was not discussed for a while, I'd say it's fixed.

Mine ripped off in January, and I finally got it fixed last month at the 15k service. The service manager charged for the part/labor, and I complained, refused to pay. I even said I thought the part was recalled and he played dumb. I eventually got them to drop the charge...

i had mine replaced at about 11k miles.. when i had it happen i thought i was the only person with it.. the dealer tried to tell me it wasn't covered under warranty like it was something i did.. since they replaced this.. do you think that the one i have now is being recalled or was a newer one put on? i had it replaced about 5-6 months ago..

Just got mine replaced two weeks ago after it started flailing around. The dealer called it a "fuel line protector". No charge.

I just had mine replaced yesterday in Fremont Lexus. They didn't give me any hassels at all and it was all covered under warranty. I just had to give their diagnostic specialist a ride in my car to show them what was going on.

When I hit about 80-90 on the freeway the panel will start to flap in the wind. It sounds like there is huge wind noise coming from the passenger door. The panel is actually under the front passenger side.

The whole thing took like an hour (including my free car wash
)

Actually, it's under rear passenger side.
At least mine was. See pics from above post.
