Well, looking into getting a lexus is300, and going turbo.
I wanted to know any additional costs to make the car more reliable since this would be my daily driver.

1. Srt Stage 2 ( intercooler main reason)
2. I'd get an E-shift so upgrade tranny?
3. Mabye TT internals (not sure on cost thought) link would be nice
4. And i've heard abt upgradin exhaust to 3 inch. Will HKS work, or should i save my money?

Well thats all, i've asked a mouthful, but would appreicate help

Thanks,
Brian

thats about right
it would cost a lot to get all of those though

dont forget you need a wideband to check your current A/F also the most important a good experienced tuner!

I have a SRT Stage 2 Turbo.

My 1st question: What is your location relative to SRT's shop?

If you're getting the SRT Stage 2 kit, plan on buying the HKS DLI...This should have been standard.
Agreed. Or, smaller suggested gap on the plugs.

If you are remote from SRT land, I suggest you choose the E-Manage option. You must be able to tune it at your local tuner after you install it.

Your internals will be fine at the stage 2 power out levels (300-350).
Since you have an auto, I would also suggest picking up the TBKO ESK unit.

EDIT: I kept my L-Tuned exhaust. It lost me about 25rwhp. However, it is as quiet as the stock exhaust sound. No drone. No nothing

I have the srt stage 2.
I have the E-manage and have had the blinking trac 2 times.
I believe both times it happened was when I started my car and immediately threw it in reverse without waiting for the car to start up and idle normal.
Mine are gapped to ~.32. I was careful to make sure the gapping was to what i wanted it to be.

You'll definitely want a nice exhaust besides the stock one.

Wideband and electronic boost controller is nice to have too.

EGT, fuel pressure and boost gauge is what I recommend as well.

You shouldn't need internals on a stage 2.

I'd say plan it out, talk to people, save your money and do it right.

the tbko esk doesn't do squat on an auto when it's turboed. you'll still bounce off the rev limiter.

cool guys, thanks for the good responses, without any of that "use search junk"

so here's what i figured out:

1. Stage 2 Srt
2. SRT intake
3. No need yet to upgrade internals
4. Wideband for A/F ratio
5. HKS DLI
6. TBKO ESK Shift Unit (if money left over)
7. Boost controller
8. and my favorite wider tires :)

oh and ohh ya, hehe i live in texas and i believe srt is is something like massachusetts. But i plan just to head up there for a week get things tuned and bring her back home. (boosting :p )

Sound good?

Wideband is not essential yet if you're tight on a budget cuz those puppies can set you back $800-1000. The HKS DLI can also probably wait if SRT tunes your car and you don't drive like a maniac all the time, that's another $800 saved for now. Get the e-manage 1st like lil' recommended 1st IMO before you go with wideband or DLI. Oh and be prepared to bring a check or credit card for about $7000-8000 to install everything (not including wideband and DLI) if you want those 2 items then bring a check for $9000-10,000.

$5795 kit, $950 install, $395 3" DP, e-manage ? Wideband $800 (low end), DLI $800. And if he has it installed there, are there taxes on the parts also?

You won't be needing an SRT intake if you have the turbo- just an FYI- the turbo comes with it's own intake piping to the compressor housing.

The "SRT HFI Intake" is an N/A upgrade.

hehe sounds insane.. and you would definately need the wider rubber if you plan to plant that power to the ground in a more or less safe fassion :).. do you guys know if you can go as wide as 245 on the rear ? or 235 is the max ? (w/o it sticking out like a "pimpin" ride)

Hey- if you are going to drive up and have SRT tune your car, then don't bother spending the money to get the emanage- the added features it offers aren't worth the extra money, unless you need the end-user tuneablilty. Yes, it has ignition timing control, Yes, it has a supplemental map sensor for when your MAF caps out voltage, but the stage 2s dont' cap out the MAF anyway.

Besides, since I got my wideband, I now have verifiable proof that the SRT piggyback controls a/f under boost perfectly :D I hope to post a video soon of my a/f as I boost the car, under the control of the srt piggyback.

Now, if you don't have srt tune your car and want to have a local shop tune it, then get the emanage, so your shop can fine-tune for your local atmospheric conditions, altitude, etc-

Personally, I would recommend having the wideband though.

E-Manage = about 500.00 for everything and well worth it unless you live next door to SRT. If you ever need or want to make adjustments in tuning you will be able to have a local shop do it rather than having to get your car back to SRT. I think it is a pretty nice setup for the money.
As a few others have stated do some thorough research of your choices and talk to a couple people who have some differnt setups to help you decide on the kit that is right for you. Turboing the IS can get rather expensive, so do it right from the start and your wallet will thank you down the road.
