Picked up my IS300 just last week...under 500 miles so far, and driving it gently through the break-in period. My question is this: Has anyone else had the transmission (in the normal "d" mode) do strange things at low speeds? Sometimes when accelerating gently in heavy traffic, it feels like it's in neutral...or stuck in first gear. This seems to happen after 40+ minutes of driving. Other than that, I'm enjoying the heck out of it...

BTW, ijm stands for Imperial Jade Mica...

There have been several posts about the tranny acting funny but no one has really been able to get a dealer to find anything wrong. Search the forum under "transmission" or "hesitation" to read earlier posts.

My transmission *occassionally* shifts abruptly, very abruptly, between 4-5k rmp between 3rd and 4th gears. Of course the dealer said he could not duplicate.

BTW, while your searching, search under the user name "accelr8". He posted a nice picture of his IJM with tint and spoiler.

Thanks...I'm hoping those who have seen this problem go away after break-in are still convinced that it does indeed stay gone...I will mention it at my 1000 mile service...

mine seems to hesitate too. especially when i punch it. but sometimes when im rollin at low speeds the tranny seems to be stuck when i want to accelerate. weird. nothing too concerning but nonetheless kind of bothersome....

I just noticed this today too!!!

Something seems to be wrong here.

I hit the gas a little harder than normal and the engine just revved towards redline with no acceleration from the car. I let off on the gas and let it rev back down to about 2500 and "tried again"... This time it went.

Very disconcerting...

That's EXACTLY what happened to me on the way home tonight...if it happens again before my first service, I think I'll take it in to be looked at. Let us know if you find out anything.
