Yea...use only the recommended Toyota fluid for the automatic transmission. I would suggest going to a Toyota dealer than a Lexus dealer for that fluid..probably save some $. About the intervals at which to change the automatic transmission fluid there is some debate. If you go to a dealer they will tell you it needs to be changed at 30k miles. If you look in the owners manual, it says to change it at 60k miles. If you look on the dipstick it says not to change it at all. What gives :-? Any other opinions?

The fact that it is "lifetime" fluid is clearly stated in the manual.

I just hate when the dealers make people pay top dollar figure for a service that is not a necessity.

Tell me about it. My dealer quoted me $585 for the 30k service.. Its a damn good thing i was able to these myself
