I was in an icy parking lot (no cars around) and I kind of made a sharp turn without hitting the gas. I found my rear end fish tailing a bit but traction control did not kick in. Does TRAC only work when you are on the throttle?

Thanks in advance

Traction control stops your rear wheels from spinning, but it does not stop your rear wheels from sliding, skidding, or any other lateral break in traction. That is what skid control, active handling, or whatever you want to cll it is for.
