669 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  marke1
Today I talked to the Diagnostic Specialist at my dealership and they know of both the TRAC problem and the ECU reprogramming. He said it could be from 30-60 days but I was very happy to hear that he knew of both problems and they would be covered. Hes going to contact to me soon with more detailed informantion, but all is well so far. =]

Sorry if this is old news, but what's the problem with trac?

What lexus will do is change the programming in the trac/abs ecu. With the updated ecu the trac system won't be so sensitive and will turn itself off sooner. FYI, the trac can sometimes engage for about a second or two without blinking the trac light in the dash. Thus, the owner interpets that as a hesitation. As of febuary, all IS300s made have the new ecu program, and the newer trac/abs ecu. Hope that clears things up.

I think I have noticed this happen. Sometimes it "feels" like the Trac has engaged but no flashing light. Interesting.
