So I just finished the install.

The coils emit a squeak when i go over little dips in the road...say a manhole cover is about 1 inch lower than the road.

Anyone have this issue? Could it be the locking rings? the upper mounts? Break in time?

On a side note, I don't have any rattling or thumping or anything. I'm currently set at 12 front and 12 rear to test it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

A little squeek is normal, but put the car back up and just make all the bolts loose, grab the coilover and turn it just a bit and re torque them all down.

hope it helps.

De,

It should not be a big deal. Do as david says and also give them some time to "break in". The noise from vipers that you spoke of in PM was a major noise in which one of his coilovers was defective. If its just a squeek, it should go away with some minor adjustment and retightening. also...try softening the dampen settings for the break in period. Do 8 in the front, 10 or 12 in the rear.

Hope this helps. IM me today.

Thanks for the help. Interesting that the other Flex install I did didn't have any noise. Whatever. I'll finger it out.

Did you ever figure out that squeaking noise? I seem to have it on the softer settings from 12-16. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Thanks

When I have mine set on soft settings 0-6 or so, there is no squeaking. When it's set to stiff it squeaks.

Try running it soft for a few days, then go to stiff. That helped mine.

Mine does the same, so just turn up the radio... I am going to try the softer settings and see what happens to the sound.

On mine, it only happens at the softer settings from 12 to 16. I hate it. So I usually run them around 8-10 and no noise. On long highway rides, I'll run them softer, say 14, and no noise. It's just going over speed bumbs and some potholes.

Didn't think to retighten them, just figured it was a characteristic of the shock at softer settings.

Thats the same problem I'm having. Let me clarify that it's really not a squeaking sound but more of a squishy sound. I didn't install mine. What do I need to retighten?
