are you using burnt cd's?? If you are try not to use blue bottom ones, or burn them on a lower speed. My car use to get errors with cd-r's but i started buring them at 6x and they usually come out fine now and i dotn run into any problems

Hey Ticalis, I met you Saturday at the Mercedes Benz driving event. I was the one with the blue IS with the scratches.
I decided to register finally. Great meeting all you guys, your cars were tight. Especially BigDaddyRich. Your car was drool material. Keep up the good work. Funny you should mention the CD player. Mine jammed up as well after I hit a pothole. I got four of my favorite CD's stuck in there..WTF!!!!! is this a defective radio? what the deal?

sup bro.. it was nice meeting u guys too.. sorry to see those scratches tho.. thats gotta suck.. maybe if we bug lexus enough they will implement the credit card rule..

as for the cd player.. the first time they switched it was because of the cd error3 that kept coming on... (with cds bought from the store).. and then i had the second one.. where the cds actually got stuck in the player.. 2 days ago..lexus put in a BRAND NEW one.. and it is already jammed... another 3 cds are stuck.. that make 7 cds in total over 2 weeks..

CD-r's aren't the problem, and are not the cause of the jamming. I've used both regular and cdr and my cd player jammed w/ regulars... it's a matter of 1 ****ty component (the changer) in an otherwise decently built vehicle.

Yeah the scratches suck, the only way to avoid the pain is not to look until I get it fixed. Yeah the credit card rule would be phat..right! Felt bad about cruzinIS car getting keyed...Yellow is the best color to hide scratches though.
If they keep jamming it would be safer to just used burned copies of your original.

On a side note.. is that guy still selling the Lexus stickers for the calipers? What was his name again?

yeah..i think the cd error 3 comes and goes as it pleases... but once one cd gets jammed... it screws up everything... and makes a really bad sound... sounds like my cds are getting fuct up from the inside...

zor..his SN is ted921... i think hes selling them for $16 for the set...front and rear...

I'm on my FOURTH CD player and haven't even had my car a year. It's the player that has the problems. And it has always broken when the CDs have been in the player just sitting there (i.e., not switching between disks, not loading/unloading, not self-burned CDs jamming). Ridiculous.

I think you guys are jinxing me by talking about it. My CD player SKIPPED for the first time this morning and it did it TWICE. What gives?

I'm not sure where I read this but the issue is with the thickness of the media itself. To be able to make the changer mechanism small enough to fit in the dash, the tolerances had to be extremely close. The thickness of a CD-R can vary quite a bit and I think that's where everyone is running into a problem. Anyone who had an Alpine 3 Disc indash knows what I'm talking about.

I guest I'm really lucky, Because it has been about a month since I bought my car until now, I NEVER had any issue with my CD player(knock on wood!!!), and yes, all of my media are CD-R (Hmmmm..How about that)

OH and BTW - I definately don't think that Stock Stereo System is sucks....Infact I think they are the best stock system so far.

i didn't say the system sucks... just the stereo... i think the system is pretty nice for stock... but they should have realized that they were going to have sooooo many problems with an indash changer... i think the idea was a good one..but the reliablility of it hasn't proven to be worth much...just my .02

Both me (32 years old) and my IS (1 year old) had our birthday on 6/27. To this date, my stereo has been flawless. I play store bought and CD-Rs. My CD-Rs vary in both quality and type. I've used both 74 and 80 minute CD-Rs, again, no problems.

There may be some manufacturing issues or something that causing several batches of stereos to be bad. I just hope my luck holds up another 2 yrs, then my lease will be up.

We'd better hold our breath...mine is 8 months old and the skipping this morning is the first trouble I've had...

OK here's my situation. Not exactly the same but somewhat related. My CD's do not get stuck in the player, they do not skip either. What happens however, is that occasionally a CD will try to play, but it seems like the laser doesn't want to read the CD. So it will try for minutes on end without playing any music. If I switch to a different CD it does the same thing on the first song of the CD. The only way to fix it is to eject a CD (Doesn't matter which one) and load it again. Then everything works perfectly for quite some time.

BTW: I have had the IS for about a month and a half.

I have had mine for a year now and not experienced any CD errors. Since I don't change out my CD selection very often (every 3 or 4 weeks) I was wondering if it had anything to do with the number of times the unit had to cycle a CD (load/eject) but it looks like Tica's problem after just a few days shoots that theory. That is unless these are remanufactured units that are being installed for the replacements - anybody know what they are doing??
