Do a search of this forum's archives. This has been discussed before, so the information is out there.

You didn't ask specifically about subwoofer info, but I'll offer some. Myself and others here have commented on how good the quality of the stock audio system is, but that it needs a sub to help out the low end. So, I've been doing some research and have started to build a sub system for my car. What I've found is that AudioMobile subs are a great choice. Their MASS 2012 model is HIGHLY regarded for car audio applications. It has been ranked among the best 12" subs available. Since they sell only direct (no dealers or distributors), their prices are good too. You can see them at www.audiomobileinc.com.

I'm also building my own sub box to fit tightly into my IS and take up as little room as possible. I'm almost done and am excited to hear the result. By the way, the amp I'm using is a 250W Xtant mono sub amp.

where can i get the sub installed at? at the trunk? i dont think i need to put subwoofer in the trunk since i need to use the car as family sedan... so i guess its pretty hard to use up the trunk space. i would like to find out the watts on each stock speakers. i see the sony xplod es xs-v6955f 6"x9" with 230 watts (price around 200). or maybe the infinity 6952i, 6953i 300 watts. i might get those if those would best fit and maybe new audio cable too. should i get new speakers or just stay with the stock ones? anyone can recomm me any speaker brand? any place to get the best price, best services? thanks again

another brand i'd like to recommend is image dynamics subwoofers and phoenix gold amps, i use this setup in my other car and plan to use a similar setup in the IS300. the image dynamics subs are regarded as having excellent SQ, which is what i was looking for rather than a sub which focused on high SPL. good luck with your search!
