Hi all, the Search function is being too slow, so forgive me if this has already been discussed.

I just got back from a 1000 mile roadtrip and started noticing a creaking noise coming out of my steering wheel column. Happens when I turn it either way.

The funny thing is that is only stays there for a few minutes after I turn on the car... Then it disappears and everything is normal. Anyone experienced this ?

I have the same problem. I have to say they have not resolved it. I assuming it is the spiral cable. Which a wire that runs into the steering wheel, such as the cruise control, air bag, and the push button controls for the transmission.

They have replaced it already once, and still there! I don't know what to say, but I'm just waiting for it to get a little louder then I will bring the IS for service once again.

Hope this helps, by the way can I ask when was your manufacturing date for your IS?

Just got a call back from my service guy. This must be one of the rare times when the service guys actually replicated what happens!

You're right, it is the spiral cable. and that part has been ordered for me. I'll get the car back and when they receive that part, I'll bring it back in to get it installed.
