Do they really work as good as it sounds, with the piggyback? Hard to wire up? I'm really thinking seriously about this one, as I really don't want to do a whole bunch of mods, and this one sounds like maybe the most gains for the least trouble and work.Wino_II said:www.swiftracing.com
It will last a long time if you take care of the filter.
Yes. I had one for about 8000 miles...it was awesome, best intake for the IS300 by far! The piggy back unit works great and is not to hard to install if you know how to solder well.bartkat said:Do they really work as good as it sounds, with the piggyback? Hard to wire up? And soldering is NOT a difficult skill to master- When I installed my intake a year and a half ago it was one of the first times I had ever soldered. Pick up a soldering gun at home depot ($19, will come in handy for years to come) and go do it, already!Wino_II said:Yes. Heh, so I've been soldering longer than you. Who cares. Trying to show off your soldering dick? Grow up.vlad_a said:I've been soldering for 15 years (hobby) and had no idea there was a different type for PCB boards vs wires. :-? :roll:crontab said:Make sure you use the correct solder. There are types that stick to metal, types that stick to PCB or bread boards. I spent two hours trying to solder two wires together with the wrong type of solder for my ESK. When I realized that I was using the wrong type, I was already looking like Egor!

You're probably talking about if the solder has special soldering compound blended into it instead of having it separate.
BTW,
Between my 2 ISs, I put close to 60K miles with the SRT intake. No problems, no CEL.

Thanx!bartkat said:
I presume this is what you're talking about:crontab said:You can also use the K&N cleaning Kit. I had the SRT cleaning kit, but I threw it away by mistake when cleaning out the garage. I didn't even open it. =/ Anyways, get the aerosol one. I think the oil amount would be easier to manage than the pump spray one.
I've had this K&N oil on the filter for about 2k I think and I'm running fine.
