I just installed a new set of Eibach Sportline on my IS. Everything seemed great until the second day I had them on I noticed my passenger rear shock was poking about 1 - 1.5 inches out of the shrouding that covers the strut mount.

After investigating a bit further I noticed that the rear driver side was also trying to poke through the shrouding, but it only poked through and is not visible.

Would this be a result of a blown shock? Or perhaps the springs have too much of a drop and are too soft now.

Pics soon to come, the help is always appreciated.

It sounds like you had the same problem that I had. look at this thread:

http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=263135

If you read down further you will see that there is a metal peice that you are supposed to put back in with the aftermarket bumpstops. Hope this helps.
