Stupid question, but I'm still trying to figure out the new search function.

Where is the speed sensor located? IE I'm planning to get some new wheels... with 225/40/18 in front and 235/40/18 in the rear. Now if the speed sensor is on the front wheels, my speedometer will be somewhere ~1 mph off, but if it is tied to the rears, the wider/taller tire will make the speedometer 3~5 mph off...

If I'm not mistaken, the ECU takes an average from all 4 wheels, using the ABS sensors.

There is a speed sensor at the Tranny. That is where I got my speed signal for the Blitz ID power meter.

That is for the 5spd .. auto may be different.

i was just speaking in terms of wheels and tires. like getting a staggered setup.. etc..

The sensor for the speedometer comes off the trans, so it's affected by the rear tire size.

The sensors at the wheels are only used for ABS, TRAC, and Skid control.
