I was just at my lexus dealer today to see if the '02 had come in. they said they are expecting 3 5 speeds in 2 weeks. anyway, we got to talking about how the 2001's are selling, and he told me that SBMs are no longer available. he said a lot of his customers have seen my car (he said i have the only SBM in town) and they really want that colour badly!! funny, because my particular car was sitting in the showroom for 3 months before i bought it, but that was when it was still snowing. they have been trying to locate SBM cars for customers for the last month or two without success. makes me glad to have an SBM...a unique car in a now unique colour.

my dealer is sold out of new '01s and he only has 2 demos left (both yellow). there was a nice GGP car being delivered that day, fully loaded with graphite wheels, ivory interior, and headlight washer nozzles. SBM still looks better though!

Sounds to me like a little feather ruffling of an IS300 owner about to now own "last years car". The new blue is obviously very close to SBM... so ruffle while you can!

The new blue is a lighter color that does not have a illusional effect in different lighting. The SBM looks a deep dark purple in shaded areas and an intense blue metallic when in direct sun. At least this is my impression after seeing a 02 IBM.

It's kinda nice they're only having it for one year, makes it that much more special and rare.

I saw only my second SBM on the road (besides mine)on Saturday. There was a young (early 20s)woman driving it. I rolled down the window and asked her how come she's driving "that old heap". She grinned. Obviously, she's having a pleasant ownership experience too. I pointed out my IS300 stickers, but don't know if she'll log in.

SBM is top notch, intensa blue pearl just doesn't come close. And, I ruffle because I can!

SBM ALL THE WAY!!!! I fell in love with it the first time i saw it and was set on getting one. The funny thing was i saw another yesterday downtown and parked next to it. It was funny to watch and see the look on his face when he came out to leave. I talked to him a bit, he was like 35 and had kids, i dont think he is into the whole online community thing so i didnt tell him about the board. For sure, SBM is rare. People love the way it changes color in different light and i think it will be in demand after people see the color difference in the 2002.
