capitol raceway, parcel pimps car, aldo's car etc?

i heard that PP car went through more oil than jermaine jackson on a bad hair day, but i'd like to hear first hand information, as we all know that shit happens, especially on that powerful of a car. is the motor hurt, the turbo hurt, a clogged pcv valve, possible overheated exhaust valve stem seals or even nothing wrong at all?

aldo, did your door fly off when racing, due to some breech of structural integrity, would they not let you race the car, what ...

somebody give an accout

Well, I was there and I must say that car is fast as hell. The first two runs where made with the intention of getting a good launch, learn the car and not get kicked off for going to fast. Must understand it was Bob's friend Jimmy driving not Mo or Bob. So he needed to learn the car a little.

With that being said the second run was indeed a 10 sec run. He got on it hard at the end of the track and still ran 11.7 at like 76mph. I believe the 60ft was 1.61, 1/8 mile speed was something like 103mph. Just plain silly number. Please u SRT guys can step in with the real numbers if mine our off. Then a 11.3 run and a testy track owner and thats all she wrote.

One of the SRT guys will have to explain the oil issue. That was the first time seeing Bobs car at the track and I was mighty impressed. I am looking forward to seeing more. Mo and the SRT guys did an awesome job.

I give the mad scientist award to mo on this one. Bobs car is just plain crazy.

We need a freaking track that doesnt enforce the roll cage rules. So we can really test these cars. Its tough when u know u r gonna get the boot if you go to fast.

Both Aldo's and Bobs car are 10 sec rides. I cant wait to see both vehicles with 10 sec time slips. Unfortunately we will probably have to wait till the spring.

yeah everyone was upset after the second run-

He had a 1.65 60', 4.7 330', trapped 104.4 in the 1/8, then stood on the brakes and pulled an 11.7 @ 74mph!

Had he kept going, I think it would have been the first 10 second run.

But, he stood on the brakes, and this is just speculation, he didn't actually run in the 10s, so unfortunately we can't claim he did

After that, the hose came off of the oil catch can, and oil got all over the engine bay, propagated its way down, and on the last run, got on the rear right tire near the end of the track, causing the car to get squirrely, and Jim to freak out.

I think that run was only an 11.4 or something, then the officials kicked the car off the track, because of the oil, not because of the times it was pulling... odd, I guess they wanted to see a 10 second lexus as badly as we did.

So, looks like no 10 second IS300s this season, guess everyone should just look forward to the spring. I'm sure there will be quite a few by then.

Why did he stand on the brakes?!
He was learning the car. He thought he might get better times as he got more and more use to it. Should he have stepped on the brakes?...obviously not...oh well...gives us another race to look forward to.

He was trying NOT to break into the 11s and thus get kicked out, as NHRA rules say that you have to have a cage if you are 11.99 and faster. So, he was trying to practice his launch and shifting, and not go all out until he felt he had a good run...

Bob does not have a cage.

Technically, he should have been kicked out after the second run, but the track officials decided to let him keep going- there was almost nobody at the track that night.

they probably let him stay since they saw that he was making an effort not to break out

what did PP's car run in the 1/8th when Mo was driving it a couple of weeks ago?

I don't remember the 1/8 mile time, but his trap speed was 102, and his 1/4 on that run was 11.0 @ 133.

So, i imagine that since Jim's 1/8 mile trap was over 104, his 1/4 mile would have certainly been higher than 133, and he certainly would have been in the 10s... oh well- "it was a building year"
