Today my friend had a little incident where he was making a wide left turn at high speeds and the back of the car spun out to the right. The car was perpendicular to the street while it was sliding.....I know I should probably know this, but if the front wheels were facing left while it was skidding, which way should he have turned the wheel to gain control? Opposite or towards the way it is? Help.

It depends if he went past perpendicular. I would say, if he was almost perpendicular, I'd turn to the right and countersteer back in.

If he was past perpendicular, stay to the left, try and go backwards but shift into neutral and roll backwards. Apply brakes to stop.

I've never been in a position that bad...so I've never tried this...

Someone tell me if I'm completely wrong.
