Need to make a quick decision: What is your experience with this coating, that some dealers are suggesting (at some discount)? The teflon protecting against bird waste, tree sap and UV rays - it all seems a bit dubious and needs refreshing after some weeks/months... I mean, it's not like we let our new IS sit there for days with bird poop on it, do we now?

I wonder if the ones who have applied this have been pleased or disappointed. Also, if it protects/strengthens the paint in any way.

Cheers,

Sounds like a scam or something. If you want inexpensive protection, I suggest waxing your car every so often.

Hi,

I had my car coated with a similar thing. It's like a paint sealant. I have done this on all of my previous cars also and I can realy recomend it.

The sealant keeps new new gloss finish for a much longer time than waxing can ( they gave me a 10 year warranty), it also makes the car a lot more easier to clean.

I'm not sure if this teflon thing your asking about is the same thing though . . .
