just got somekind ECU of update today..
and im confused...

when i told them there are 2 updates...
they said they only know about one...which solves the engine hesitation problem..

so i thought that it was the Engine ECU ...

but when i looked at the service report..
it said

"VEH Hestitation Install TRAC ECU"

if the "TRAC ecu" solves the hestitation
....what does the Engine ECU solve then?

i though it was the other way...

oh yeah...i was charged 270 dollar (CAD)
for new filter and engine oil ....
and..i was driving an Echo for whole day...
they gave me an ECHO!

......

Ok, there are 2 updates, one for the ECU (hesitation) and one for the TRAC unit. The TRAC update solves the over-sensitve traction control problem.
You're CRAZY for agreeing to pay that much for the oil change... it should cost 1/10th of that amount. I'd go back and complain.
What service interval are you at?

thanks soybomb.
so ..
if it says "install TRAC ECU"
it would mean that i received both updates?

...the 16Kms service was $195 ...and new filter and oil added up to $260
i wasn't happy about it ==
im not planning going back again..

Yeah sounds like you got both...My 15k mile service cost $320, and the goons tried to make me pay for the undercarriage panel which is under warrantee. The amount you paid, the $195 sounds like a better figure to pay for the service, but then another $65 for oil/filter?!?!? That's just insane, considering that the oil change is PART OF THE SERVICE!
I hate lexus dealers, they are scum.

Your service ticket should also say "ECU reprogram". Ask the service department and if they did not reprogram the ECU, the problem is not solved. Could you tell if the hesitation still there?

he is in cananda...unless you are going to leave the country to get your car worked on, I think you'll be safe...these are also cananda funds, so these prices are comparable...$300 CAD is only $200 US

Legmirage,

I'm in Ottawa and my 16,000 km service only ran me $168.00. Sounds like you need a new dealer. As for the Americans having to get a second job to pay for the prices their dealers charge, that is just plain outrageous!
