Is there a full leather seat trim? I
thought I remembered something about
suede leather inserts. It has been my
understanding that suede leather
does not hold up that well. Also, has
anyone seen the cloth seats? And what
colors are available? Thanks
Thanks, Eric. It appears that only
a suede/leather combo is available
(in addition to full cloth). It has
just been my observation that the
matte finish of suede tends to wear
quickly and becomes shiny after a short
period of time (even with fabric protector).
Initially, suede may look attractive and
sporty, but I think a lot of buyers would
prefer full leather (as is available in
all other Lexus models). Incidentally, I
have been using a product called "Hide Food"
(made in England) on my ES 300 seats, and
it keeps the leather looking "showroom new."
Yeah Longhorn that's the only gripe I have against the IS300. I don't like that suede/leather trim. People claim that it holds you in the seat so that you won't slid around. As long as I'm wearing my seat belt in my GS400 I don't slide around too much (in full leather.) I definitely think Lexus should have given the choice between the full leather and suede/leather... I have inquired about leather protectors that I can use on my seats and someone told me that they have an EXCELLENT Leather conditioner that's available at the Jaguar dealership. I was wondering whether that could be "Hide Food."
Thanks for the Tip Longhorn. I'll have to try it out. I wonder whether the Leater/suede option costs less than the full leather option on the other Lexus models. It's difficult to tell because they are sold in packages. I got the Nakamichi package for my GS400, which included the HID, Leather, sunroof, memory seats, 17inch wheels and spoiler. So I don't know the individual prices of the options...
