Walking out to my car I noticed a nice wood screw in the sidewall of my left rear...called Lexus they want $299 for the Potenza! So I say ok let's do it...."sorry the earliest date for service is the middle of January."

[Gratuitous language removed] So I searched around and special ordered the tire from tire store and should have it in 3 days...for $226.

Lexus Service is not lighting my fire right now.

guys looking for tires? Try www.tirerack.com. Very good company...the guys you talk to KNOW what performance for the value is. Give them a call...i think they have an 800 phone number. Neat thing too is that if you live in california, NO TAX! (they have a warehouse in Nevada). I think its like $6 shipping per tire btw.

Hey Smith bend over, 225 for an IS tire, geez dude shop around!!! Took the vette in for an oil change, they put the wrong weight in, though it is stamped on the oil filler cap, and of course spilled all over including the exhaust manifold heat shield, so I had to leave it outside cause it smelled like your wife's ***** when I got home.

I feel so ghetto in the waiting room at the Chevy dealership, ooooh cooties!!! LMAO

Hmmm...what is the deal with TireRack? Who could I get to install that thing as I don't have the tools...I have one but Doug's girlfriend is currently polishing it...hey baby watch those teef.

So at Tirerack...a single RE040 215/45ZR17 list price is $180 + $10 S&H...hmm now figure a few bucks for install, stems and disposal I think I'd be right about $226. So it simply doesn't make sense.

At any rate, the point of the story is that Stevens Creek Lexus service can eat my a$$.

A good place to get them installed is at Costco/Priceclub tirecenter. Don't know if you have them up your way. They do an excellent job, correctly dynamically balance your tire and actually use a torque wrench to put your wheels nuts back on. Cost? Its only $7 bucks per tire last time i went. You can bring them ANY TIRES! Used/new whatever. And that's with a lifetime warranty for inside-tire- repair punctures and balancing. They charged me like .01 to do a puncture/balance repair. No joke.... .01!!! I had to have my receipt though.

HOT TIP!!!!
best time to go is near the END of the day. Everyone and their mother is going in the morning and afternoon. Wait for the dark and you won't wait that long. This applies during the week and weekend i've noticed...

[Yeah - when the crew is all tired out, and is more prone to make a mistake or rush the job

I second Rotary's comment on Costco. I had my 16" tires put on by them, but from what I recall, they do not guarantee anything if you have 17" to mount.

Maybe its different elsewhere or from store to store.

if you have an America Tire Company near by, try them out, they get their tires from Tirerack.com too and their prices are similar, they also give you a lifetime guarantee, hit a pothole or run over nails and they will replace it free!
