This has already been posted I'm sure, but I need some validation. I was ready to get an S-AFC and have it tuned with my mods, but the guy says I won't get any HP from it. The only HP I'll get is from the SRT with a piggy back unit. I told him I understand that the piggy ecu adjusts the A/F curve, thats where the power is made. I know that the S-AFC does the same if not more. He went saying how the S-AFC doesn't change the mapping, but the SRT does, blah blah blah.. Lets just say I'm no longer considering this shop for any type of tuning.

SRT Intake w/piggy back ECU is equivalent to say Injen/AEM with a tuned S-AFC?

depends what other mods you have...if its just exhaust or somethin...leave it alone and don't get the AFC.

but if you got a header, take out the SRT ECU and just tune w/ the AFC

yeah, go with the afc if your planning on getting more mods like intake, headers, race pipe, etc.. The AFC will let you get more hp out of your many mods.
Now if your only mods are intake and exhuast and dont plan on getting anything else then get the SRT ECU.


and yes your right the SRT Intake w/piggy back ECU achieves similar performance to Injen/AEM with a tuned S-AFC.

with the mods you have listed; Pro-1 Header, XERD Race Pipe, Injen Intake, Greddy EVO. The SRT piggyback won't help you unless you tuner is SRT. For SRT is the only tuner that can mod the air/fuel maaping of the piggyback unit.
the s-afc will help you with your mods, and I would suggest using it over the SRT piggyback unit. one question. why do you have an SRT piggyback unit if you don't have an SRT intake?

Sorry about that.. I don't have the Piggy back. The guy at this store kept telling me the SRT was the way to go and S-AFC with my Pro1, XERD race Pipe and Greddy EVO wouldn't give me more HP. From what he was saying, "Don't go S-AFC for HP, go with SRT w/piggy back".. I was arguing and finally gave up, that if I didn't have headers, race pipe, exhaust and only had the an Intake choice, it'd be SRT, but I do have Headers, Race Pipe, Exhaust and an Intake that is NOT SRT..so S-AFC should be my route..

Where do you live? If you're near SRT...drive on over and have them tune your SRT R-ECU to fit your mods. :chill:

it sounds mean under normal load, at WOT it sounds like a beast, the only thing that bothers me is I get a little bit of canister sound.. I keep thinking I have an exhaust leak but have had it up on lifts by 2 shops, Pann Auto Performance and a muffler shop. They both say they couldnt find a leak...
Without the XERD Race Pipe, just with the race pipe the Pro-1 came with it sounded very low, growling, but... i felt i lost some top end..
