Hi, I have a 2011 IS350 F-Sport and I have noticed that the engine sounds little rough when starting up the car first thing in the morning and driving off. There is a very slight noise that can be described as a sowing machine that corresponds to gentle acceleration.

I brought this up to the dealer service and they determined that the noise is normal and that the noise is caused by very slight rub between the cylinder and the wall when the engine is not warmed up. The also mentioned a high (?) level of "silica" which supports the "rub" theory. Sounds pretty bad but they keep saying it's normal.

Anyone have similar issue?

TIA

We had a similar problem with the 3.5 in our Highlander. RPM dependent tick-tick until it warmed up for a couple minutes. Everything I read about it indicated "they all do it".

I introduced this up to the supplier support and they identified that the disturbance is regular and that the disturbance is due to very minor rub between the cyndrical tube and the walls when the motor is not heated up.

Please make me suggestions and visit:
