I e-mailed three times in the past aobut the intake before it was released... no answer to any of them. I called in today and left a number... maybe they can redeem themselves?

Anyway, I was seriously considering the blitz filter also, but Blitz won't be making one specifically for the IS until next year (that's what the guy at Blitz said anyway) so you could just buy the filter and find the fittings elsewhere, but the question is... where?

P.S. if an intake lets in too much dirt, what long term effects will it have? And to what extent does an intake affect warranty?

I talked on the phone with guys from RMM and Toyomoto, and here's what they said...

RMM: Their intake system can be modified to use the Blitz filter, although you would still have to pay full price since the fittings are not sold separately.

Toyomoto: I saw a picture of an intake on their turbo IS, and asked if they were selling that and if it could be used for another filter. He said something about a conflict with the air mass sensor, but said that he could rig something up within a week that would be able to fit the Blitz SUS. Cost = $150 (without Blitz air filter)

So it is possible right now to get an intake using a Blitz air filter (~$90) along with Toyomoto's fittings and be able spend around 250.

Again, how does poor dirt filtering harm performance exactly? Apparently the SUS doesn't filter too well, while the Apex filters well and adds about the same power...
