Anyone have any numbers as to the current value of a 2001 IS300? i paid a little over $37,000 for it in July of 2000, and she has a little over 19,000 miles. I will be moving on up to a MB C32 AMG in Feb of next year and was trying to decide whether to trade her in or try selling her on my own...

Welp, I couldn't post a direct link to the kbb page for your 2k1 IS w/ 19K mi. in Dallas, but assuming that your car is mint, the value came up to ~30 Grand. Honestly I don't think any idiot would pay that much for a used IS300 if he/she knew what they were looking for. I would say you should be able to sell for 25-28K, but I may be wrong.

I just had mine appraised at the dealership and they told me they would give me 26k for it. I was so close to ordering a 2002 but I am gonna have to think about it. The market is soft for used cars and they are not offering much. I would try to sell it out, they just sold a 2001 fully loaded with 34995 miles for 29.9k. Mine only has 7500 miles on it.

It may be possible. I've seen 01s listed for 32900 at more than one place recently in the Cleveland area. I just want to laugh. I'm sure many people don't do there homework and are happy with 1k off sticker for a new one too. I'm sure 29.9 looked good to him since he thought he would be paying 5k more for a new one. I can definitely say that the person you sell it to will probably not be a regular visitor of this forum for anything near or over 30k. Some people research, some people could car less. I hope you find one of the latter people to sell your car too.

But I have to wait till it is close to the arrival of my 2002. I dont want to be left with 2 ISs to take care of.

You won't get much sympathy at the MB dealer, esp. if the model you're buying is rare and in demand (I imagine it is).

Switching cars every year or two is VERY EXPENSIVE -- and, in case you haven't found out already, life's not fair.

Just accept your loss and be happy with your new car!

I just saw a 01 advertised at a dealer in today's paper. Solar Yellow, loaded, 9k miles, deal of the week for 29k. So you may still be able to get more than 25k. Of course Yellow is a color that may be a bit harder sell and that is why it is a little lower. It's also hard to say what defines loaded, most ISs are probably defined as Loaded in most salesperson speak.
