I've had a hard time removing residual tree sap from the hood of my IS. None of my other cars have had the same problem so I'm suspecting maybe the soft paint?
Anyone else had this problem and what cleaners do you recommend?

I've had good luck with that Turtle Wax bug and tar remover. I'm sure there's something better though.

You must do it as soon as possible. From past experience, once the sap gets hard, it will be too late. Only way to do it by then would be to use a body compound to remove it and even as far as to sanding the area. While it is still soft, the best way I've seen so far is to use a clay bar. It pratically melts the sap off. Takes a bit of time though so you must have patience.

What I did was take a hair dryer and "sort of" heat up the sap. You cannot take sap off when its cold. Anyways, once it starts to get a little soft wax it with turtle wax or scrub it off with your finger nail.

i have never tried this and dont know if the lexuds paint will take it, but i have heard goo-b-gone is good for getting stickers and other sticky substances off of cars. good luck.

I have been using Goof-Off to remove tree sap. It works great and leaves no side effect. You can get it from local hardware store, I got mine from Home Depot.
