I've owned a 2001 IS 300 for 18 years. It's never left me on the side of the road. Currently I have 270,000 miles on the vehicle. It's engine is still running very strong as well as it's transmission. I am very positive that this IS will reach the 500,000 mark. It's that good! I have not driven the car at high rpm's, and have not modified anything. Be aware that at certain mileage points you will need to put money into it. For example, my fuel pump, alternator, starter went out at around 250,000! The engine needed new gaskets. All what you would expect for this kind of mileage. If your purchasing a used IS look to a seller that has the car in it's original condition. Esp the engine. If the car looks tricked out you might assume it's been run hard, or raced. In ending, this is one of the most reliable cars ever built. My best buying decision I've ever made.
