Rear light icon on the instrument cluster?

Anyone notice that there is a icon of a car with "beams" coming from the back lights on your instrument cluster? It comes on as part of the startup check (lower left, I think) but then I've never seen it come on. I thought it might be a reverse gear indicator light but that's not it either. Maybe a parking range sensor for future use? Any ideas??

I'm guessing (i should read the manule ) that when one of the back light's burn out that light let's you know that there is a light out in the back of your car.

is the light amber/orange in colour? and are the beams curved?(i.e. not straight)... if it is then it might be the "loss of traction" light which doesn't have anything to do with the lightbulbs... i've noticed it go off when i have trac off and swing around corners too fast... i could be wrong about this, but i don't see any other similar light on the bottom left side of the display... hope this helps...
it's not the sguiggly "trac kicking in" lights - I've seen that one enough to know ;>
Could it be a light to indicate that you have the rear fog lamps on? I know the IS in the US doesn't have the rear fog lamps, but does the European or Japanese model?
its the rear light malfunction indicator. Blown or busted tail light.
There's also an indicator light that signifies that your self leveling mechanism for the headlights are not functioning. (at least in the GS400)..
Eric....
That is absolutely correct, as I have to stare at it whenever I drive my mother's ES300 (the bulb isn't burned out, but the connection might be bad/worn since it occasionally fixes itself...strange).
