Just wondering what the rear end ratio is on a auto 02' and if there are any direct-fit swaps from maybe the NA Supra that would have a numerically higher ratio for more torque. How about LSD diffs from the 3sge altezza?

Any ideas?

The 02 Auto is a 3.9 final drive, and the 5 speeds have a 3.7. There was a 4.7 final drive on ebay a while ago from TRD for the 6 speed IS200 which would most likly work in the IS300, but with the stock gearing a 4.7 final drive would be horrable.

Best thing to do would be to get the 6 speed from the supra, swap that in to the IS300 and keep the 3.9 final drive, would work awesome for N/A reasons.

wow 3.7 is really low for n/a vehicle. the MA70 n/a was 4.3. the MA70 turbo is 3.7. for the power our cars are making we should have a 410 or 430 rear end with better tranny gearing. i cant believe my cruising at 80mph is around 3400rpm. we ran a dyno comparing 4th and 5th gear, there is a ton of overlap. the w55 should have a longer 5th for cruising, 4th gear is good for high speed acceleration as is.

my g/f's JZA70 with 410 rear R154 tranny cruises at 80 around 3100rpm
